The Merseybeats

Originally called The Mavericks, had their own show numerous times at Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club. On many of these occasions they were supported by another up and coming group ‘The Beatles’.

Readers of ‘The Beat Goes On’ magazine voted for five consecutive years The Merseybeats as ‘No 1 Sixties Live Group’, Tony Crane simultaneously being voted ‘Best Vocalist’.

Briefly changed their name to The Merseys reached number 4 in the charts with the classic ‘Sorrow’.

Fronted by the original lead singers Tony Crane and Billy Kinsley ‘The Merseybeats’ punch out their chart hits, I think of You, Don’t Turn Around, Wishin’ & Hopin’, Sorrow and many more.

No backing tracks, no miming, no kidding just great foot tapping music, played and sung as you remember it.

60’s music at its best The Merseybeats…………….’Still doing the business’
