Calvero (Frank Terry)
Frank trained at Streatham ice rink in London reaching silver medal standard and British Junior Pair Skating Champion in 1966.
Began his career in showbiz as an ice skater in 1968 at the then famous American Forces Ice Cabaret Show 'Casa Carioca' based in Garmish-Pa, Bavaria.
Skated extensively in the UK before teaming up with his wife Jan and performed as a novelty double act in South Africa, developing an acrobatic act which they performed in Cottle & Austins touring ice circus.
They then began performing their acrobatic/adagio act 'Duo Du Sol' at theatres, clubs, hotels, holiday parks etc throughout the UK and Europe. Touring with the Ken Dodd Show for eleven years, playing many of the number one theatres.
The Charlie Chaplin/Rag Doll act was developed initially for a summer show at the Spa Theatre, Bridlington. The act became so popular it took over entirely from the original adagio act and is still in great demand.
Frank adopted the name 'Calvero' from the character played by Charlie Chaplin in the film Limelight, now performs as Calvero for all solo work, meet and greet, interactive etc as Charlie and other characters.
